DKO has been part of Somerton since David Kneebone opened the practice in 1993. Today, 30 years later, we still work with the same principles of quality products and first-class care and service.
The move to private funding has enabled us to provide an even greater level of care and service to our patients than ever before. By allowing up to an hour for each appointment we never have to feel rushed and by investing in state-of-the-art 3D-Oct retinal scanning technology which can aid in the early detection of eye conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, Glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, your eyes have never been in safer hands.
We are John – Owner & Dispensing Optician, Jan – Receptionist, and Sean – Optometrist.
The great thing about having a small team is that you know each time you come to visit us you will see the same faces. We love getting to know our patients so we can give the best service possible.
Owner & Dispensing Optician
John is a qualified dispensing optician, an eyewear enthusiast and an avid coffee drinker. He loves finding the perfect frames for his patients. When he isn’t at work, you will find John spending time with his family, watching football, walking his dog, Rosie, or relaxing with his guitar.
Receptionist
Jan joined DKO in 2003 and has become a vital part of the team. She’s the friendly face on reception, keeps the practice running smoothly and makes sure John and Sean behave themselves. When Jan isn’t at work she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Optometrist
After qualifying in optometry at Cardiff University in 2010, Sean, has gained broad and varied experience working in both private and NHS hospital settings, including three years with cataract outpatients at Shepton Mallet Treatment Centre, as well as optical practices large and small. Sean will monitor your eye health and give you invaluable advice when it comes to looking after your eyes and getting the very best from your vision.
